Gourmet food and wine tour in Catalonia, Spain. Avant-garde & traditional cooking, wine, medieval villages and monuments along Dali´s route to the Emporda, Costa Brava.

This wonderful gourmet food and wine tour takes you to a land of outstanding beauty, visiting the most fascinating fishing villages and well preserved medieval towns in Spain's northeastern region of Catalonia by the Mediterranean Sea.

During this culinary trip we will enjoy some “hands-on” cooking classes at the prestigious cooking school of L´ Emporda, to bring you up on the most traditional recipes of Catalonia as well as a few avant-garde recipes called "cocina de autor “.

We will be based at “ L´Emporda” where its enchanting landscape, filled with rolling hills and picturesque stone-built villages is a pleasure to explore as well as the beautiful beaches and shapped cliffs of the amazing Costa Brava. This region of lovely countryside is the frame to our stylish and intimate four-star hotel. Its interior courtyard surrounded by the majesty of the building and the wide private gardens around, will transport you to a paradise of peace and relax.. From here we will visit the nearby medieval villages of Pals, Ullastret, Peratallada…. And we will go along the Dali´s route: Figueras, full of historical and cultural interest with monuments and museums, such as the famous and bizarre Teatre Museu Dali and the lovely fishing village of Cadaques.

One of our winery visits will be in the stunning castle of Peralada, a perfectly preserved medieval village at the base of The Pyrenees. Peralada is the official wine centre for wine originating in Emporda, and down in its celebrated cellars, where the Carmelite monks had made wine from the fourteenth century, the best wine and cava (sparkling wine) are produced with great care. We will also visit the Carmelite monastery with its outstanding collection of glass and crystalware, its magnificent library and wine museum. Peralada also holds the luxury “wine spa”, a high new concept which philosophy is based on a therapy using extracts from the wine and where we will enjoy a fabulous thermal circuit.

Other unique culinary activities we will experience during this vacations will be some visits to artisan food producers, the local fish port or Palamos, a wine tasting guided by a professional and more.
