Ruesta is an abandoned town located in the province of Zaragoza,
halfway the Pyrenees of Huesca and Navarre and 554 mts. above sea
level.
The climate of the area is the typical of the low-mountain zones,
with slight Winter snows, rainy Springs and Autumns, and hot Summers.
Nowadays it is being repopulated.

| In August 1993 a building was restored as a youth hostel. Since
1995 a second one is available. As a whole they have a capacity for
60 people. |
| Both of the accommodations consist of: |
- Bedrooms with 4 and 6 bunk beds
- Heating
- Hot water
- Dining-room service
- Multipurpose lounge with a capacity for around 100 people
- Snack-bar, terraces, leisure areas, etc.

| These lodgings belong to the Association of Youth Hostels of the
pilgrim's road to Santiago de Compostela; their structure keep the
traditional style of the zone and they offer a complete hostel service
at quite reasonable prices, with discounts for associations and groups. |

The youth hostels of Ruesta are open all-year-round.
|
|
The mountainous environment and the closeness to the Pyrenees turn
Ruesta into a place with plenty of flora and fauna.
At the bottom of Ruesta flows the small river Regal, which runs
into a nearby dam.

There is a 16.000 m2 camping area next to the Yesa reservoir with
a capacity for 150 people covered in its entirety with trees and
surrounded by vegetation (oaks, maples, junipers...).

Here are some of the activities you can practise:
- Water sports: Embalse de Yesa and river Aragon
- Going on trips: forestal trails, cycling, strolling along the
valleys of the Pyrenees
- Turistic-artistic visits: Romanic route of Aragon and Navarra,
pilgrim's road to Santiago de Compostela, nearby historic buildings
- Hang-gliding, climbing (Zurita, Anso, Belagua) photographic
safaris
