Capmany is a very quiet and very well communicated town with about 500 inhabitants in the Alto Ampurdan (Alt Emporda) area, between the Pyrenees mountain Albera and the Costa Brava.

The surrounding Ampurdan is inviting, suitable for rest, relax, to have fun or find inspiration as Salvador Dali, Mossen Cinto Verdaguer and many other artists did.

Surroundings:

The rural and silent town has a fortified zone in the old part, apart from many stone houses. This gives Capmany a special flair and transmits a sensation of peace and wellbeing. Outstanding for the visitor is a pleasant landscape with many wineyards and olive trees, as well as pines, oaks and holm oak forests.

The granitic stone area is amazing with examples of more than 100 tons, being one of the richest areas regarding megalitic monuments such as dolmens. Moreover there are many lakes and swamps with migratory and local birds.

•  at less than 10 km: Tennis and golf, fishing, horse riding, quads, trekking, mountain bike.

•  between 10 and 25 km: Indoor swimming pool, museums, mountaineering, karting, beach, mini-golf, parachuting, balloon flights, nautical sports, microlight aircrafts.
