Nerja is located in a unique setting of incomparable beauty. In
its historic centre, which dates back from 1487, stands out the famous
'Balcon de Europa', a viewpoint overlooking the sea and built from
the remains of an old medieval castle. In the outskirts you'll find
The Nerja Caves, the 3rd most visited natural monument in Spain.
You can visit the following places of interest:
- Frigiliana, a small village surrounded by immense mountains and shaped by its beautiful little streets of purest andalusian style, is famous for its sweet wine and oil
- Between Nerja and Almuñecar we find Maro, a little village of approx. 700 inhabitants, whose untouched beaches are the envy of the whole Costa del Sol
- Malaga is at 55 kmts, there you'll enjoy the Roman Theatre, the Alcazaba and the Gibralfaro Castle, and not to forget the house where the international renowned artist Pablo Ruiz Picasso was born
- In Granada, at 95 kmts, stands La Alhambra, a Moresque palace of compulsory visit for the tourist
